When I was younger (and our family still celebrated) my parents used to always let us open one present on Christmas eve and it was always new pyjamas. Or maybe I made that up, I can't be sure.

Now, we usually watch a Christmas film during the day (I think it was Miracle on 34th Stree this year?) have some hot chocolate before bed and read The Night Before Christmas. We leave out mince pies and milk for Santa and a carrot for the reindeer.Michelle Fluttering Butterflieshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08793681725475475156noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7571476033353364874.post-6443738562428445282010-12-27T13:46:56.478+00:002010-12-27T13:46:56.478+00:00Thanks for the wonderful comments guys.

We enjoyed opening her playmobil advent calender this month (and it can be reused so we'll do that every year) and tonight will be writing a letter to Santa which we'll leave in front of the fire with a festive snack. Wine and olives. Because that's what mummy likes. Er... I mean that's what santa likes. Then we will read a beautiful pop up version of The Night Before Christmas which I bought M the year she was born. Then she will go to bed and I will drink wine and curl up with a book before an blubbing over whatever watchnight service I can find on the BBC.Splendibirdhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06806168989843599731noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7571476033353364874.post-24845546420021036402010-12-24T13:37:42.304+00:002010-12-24T13:37:42.304+00:00I recently came across your blog and have been lea...I recently came across your blog and have been learning along. Liking the reindeer food thing a lot - so cute!

My Christmas Eve ritual tends to involve me staying out of the way of anything that might involve housework, preparation or errands. We usually crack open the Quality Street, drink some festive sherry (!) and watch a Christmas movie in the afternoon. And then around ten thirty at night I figure it's time to wrap some presents. Sad, but true.

Merry Christmas!Laurenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06483030255023873716noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7571476033353364874.post-2677344956148940152010-12-24T10:41:49.508+00:002010-12-24T10:41:49.508+00:00we don't have any of that not having kids - I ...we don't have any of that not having kids - I usually end up with a house full of boys to feed depending on which ones of Hadley's friends decide to turn up without warning. I know of two who are comign tonight but it could end up being another 3 or 4 on top of that.

I am starting the manic christmas foo cooking session in a bit though!kirsty at the overflowing libraryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08688668056795747019noreply@blogger.com
