Title: Zeus: King of the Gods
Series: Olympians
Author: George O'Connor
Publisher: First Second
Publication  Date: 5 Jan 2011

Synopsis: From Goodreads
George O'Connor is a Greek mythology buff and a classic superhero comics fan, and he's out to remind us how much our pantheon of superheroes (Superman, Batman, the X-Men, etc.) owes to mankind's ORIGINAL superheroes: the Greek pantheon.
In OLYMPIANS, O'Connor draws from primary documents to reconstruct and retell classic Greek myths. But these stories aren't sedate, scholarly works. They're action-packed, fast-paced, high-drama adventures, with monsters, romance, and not a few huge explosions. O'Connor's vibrant, kinetic art brings ancient tales to undeniable life, in a perfect fusion of super-hero aesthetics and ancient Greek mythology.
Volume 1 of OLYMPIANS, ZEUS: King OF THE GODS, introduces readers to the ruler of the Olympian Pantheon, telling his story from his boyhood to his ascendance to supreme power.

Fabulous review of a later book in this series at CSI Librarian (here) but I thought I would start with the first book in the series and hope really hard for the rest.
There is a Olympian Week taking placed across the US 4-10th October to celebrate the release of the second book in The Heroes of Olympus series The Son of Neptune.  As this coincides with Children's Book Week  I am hoping to run a Olympian Week in the school library with lots of activities and books about Greek Mythology. So you can see how fantastic it would be to have this series as a resource for that project [ : D ]

Title: Oh. My. Gods.
Series: Oh. My. Gods. #1
Author: Tera Lynn Childs
Publisher: Speak
Publication Date: 14 May 2009

Synopsis: From Goodreads

A modern girl’s comedic odyssey in a school filled with the descendants of Greek gods. When Phoebe’s mom returns from Greece with a new husband and moves them to an island in the Aegean, Phoebe’s plans for her senior year and track season are ancient history. Now she must attend the uberexclusive academy, where admission depends on pedigree, namely, ancestry from Zeus, Hera, and other Greek gods. That’s right, they’re real, not myth, and their teen descendants are like the classical heroes—supersmart and superbeautiful with a few superpowers. And now they’re on her track team! Armed only with her Nikes and the will to win, Phoebe races to find her place among the gods.

As you have probably noticed I like to work to a theme [ : D ]  Plus I want to read this one myself.
