Title: Swim the Fly
Author: Don Calme
Publisher: Templar Publishing
Publication Date: 9 May 2011Synopsis: From Amazon
Fifteen-year-old Matt Gratton and his two best friends, Coop and Sean, always set themselves a summertime goal. This year's? To see a real-live naked girl for the first time. But this mission impossible starts to look easy in comparison to Matt's other challenge: to swim the 100-yard butterfly and impress the gorgeous Kelly West.
Not something I would generally read myself but Jenny at Wondrous Reads review (here) has convinced me that I need it for the boys in the library. An actual summer reads for boys *faints*
I guess my mind is focusing on boy books this week, when I saw this book over at Crime Central I knew I had to add it to the library list. As Tom is a teacher himself I just think it makes it all the more scary how common knife crime is becoming.
Title: Too Much Trouble
Author: Tom AveryPublisher: Frances Lincoln Children's Books
Publication Date: 2 Jun 2011Synopsis: From Amazon
"Get out, Emmanuel!" growled my uncle. "Take your brother and go." But where can two boys go when they're on their own, on the run, with little money or food? All 12-year-old Emmanuel knows is that he has to look after Prince. They were his father's last words to him. On the train to London, Em and Prince have no idea where they will end up - but then they meet the mysterious Mr Green and his "friends". And that's when things start to spin out of control...
Do you know we even have posters at school to re-enforce that anyone carrying a knife should be reported. It makes me very sad.

His mission?
His mission?
1) pass his GCSEs
2) get the girl (to notice he exists)

Good thing he's got a plan. Well, half a plan...
As I seem to be having a week of books that will appeal to boys how could I not include this one. The rave reviews have me totally coveting it for the library.
Do you have any other 'boy' appeal books I should add to my list.
