I just wanted to write a little post about what I hope to get out of the coming year.
When I started writing it I thought it was going to be little now I think it may be epic and need splitting lol - I tend to ramble [ ; D ]
You probably aware - generally because I wear my heart on my sleeve and my emotions on my face - that 2011 was an absolutely awful year for me and my family. I was really, really hoping to move before the New Year to make a complete fresh start but alas Estate Agents, Banks and general rubbish red tape got in the way. Hopefully it won't be too long before we can move. The house we are moving too is rented - something I never, ever thought we would have to do after purchasing my first house 18 years ago.
It does make me really sad and I have an awful lot of regrets regarding this aspect of my life. However, the house we are moving into is for want of a better word, well, ME. It's OLD lol. It needs an awful lot of modernisation which I am loath to do with it being rented BUT it has a lot of potential even without spending an absolute fortune on it. I will be scouring free-cycle and if desperation sets in calling on my wonderful on-line friends to look out for free/cheap stuff for me too [ : D ] cos you know you guys are AWESOME.
In other news [ ; D ]
Every year I challenge myself to be more organised - this year I truly mean it. I have seen what leaving things can do - in the worse possible way. So no more. I have post-its, colour coded diary and the amazing Lynsey from Heaven, Hell and Purgatory has a wonderful colour coded to-do list for me <3
I have felt that being a School Librarian that I should have a really wide reading range in order to personally recommend books to the teens. I still feel that this is applicable however, I have read a lot of things I haven't overly enjoyed. I find I read heck of a lot faster if I am captivated by the book I am reading. I know it makes me totally shallow but hey life is too short [ : p] I am extremely lucky that I have found blogs to follow whose opinions on certain genre I don't read I trust implicitly - the recommendations I give for these genres are based on their opinions and I do tell the pupils this. So I decided for this year I am going to concentrate my reading on the books I really WANT to read. This does not mean that my reading list will not be affected by other people's reviews especially as I have just bought two books after reading reviews on My Favourite Books.
This will also not affect my blog in any shape or form because, I am one very lucky girl that has AMAZING guest reviewers (HERE)
I also have my girls that review for me and a few pupils at school - truly amazing teens <3 They have diverse reading tastes that enhance my skills as a blogger and a librarian. I truly appreciate everything they do.
I have a few things I would like to talk about with the blog but I think that might be for another post [ ; D ]
So for me 2012 is about being myself and really accepting who I am, I maybe 40 but you know life is a journey of self discovery whatever age you are.
Here's hoping all your hopes and dreams come true in 2012.
