On My Library Wish-List

Title: Populazzi
Author: Elise Allen
Publisher: Harcourt Children's Books
Publication Date: Aug 2011

Synopsis: From Goodreads

Cara has never been one of those girls: confident, self-possessed, and always ready with the perfect thing to say. A girl at the very top of the popularity tower. One of the Populazzi.
Now, junior year could change everything. Cara’s moving to a new school, and her best friend urges her to seize the moment—with the help of the Ladder. Its rungs are relationships, and if Cara transforms into the perfect girlfriend for guys ever-higher on the tower, she’ll reach the ultimate goal: Supreme Populazzi.
The Ladder seems like a lighthearted social experiment, a straight climb up, but it quickly becomes gnarled and twisted. And when everything goes wrong, only the most audacious act Cara can think of has a chance of setting things even a little bit right.

Title: Doc Mortis
Series: Invisible Fiends
Author: Barry Hutchinson
Publisher: Harper Collins Children's Books
Publication Date: 4 Aug 2011

Synopsis: From Amazon

The fourth thrilling book in this darkly funny, horror series Darren Shan called ‘deliciously nightmarish’. The first book, Mr Mumbles, is shortlisted for the Royal Mail Awards for Scottish Children's Books
Kyle wakes up in hospital – which is strange, because he doesn't remember being ill. And that's not all. He's also deliriously flitting in and out of the Darkest Corners, and in the shadow version of the hospital the surfaces aren't clean, and the sharp instruments aren't used for healing.
It's Kyle's most terrifying experience yet, and it's about to get much, much worse.
The doctor will see him now…
The fourth installment of this darkly comic horror series

I saw a fantastic review of this on Serendipity Reviews (here) and knew that although I am far too much of a wimp for it to appeal to me it would go down a storm with the 'fiends' in the school library. Truthfully I would love the entire series for the pupils [ : D ]

I will certainly be adding a few books from this wonderful week to future On My Library Wish-list [ ; D ]
